Beer/Wine and Cheese Tasting and Art Show on the Train
Calling all artists!
The Coopersville Area Arts Council is inviting local artists to apply to display original fine artwork at their annual Wine And Cheese event being held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Coopersville Pocket Park and Coopersville/Marne Train Station, both on the corner of Main Street and Eastmanville Street.
The exhibit is to display original fine art. Photos of the entries are to be emailed to
coopersvilleareaartscouncil@gmail.com with the application. (Please email the Arts Council to request an application.) The entries will then be juried and chosen for the event, with no more than four entries accepted by one artist. The artists can choose to simply have their artwork on display, or to have it for sale at the event. The artist is encouraged to attend the Wine and Cheese event as long as they are 21 years of age or older -their price of admission is to donate one piece of their artwork for the silent auction also being held that night at the event. If the artist is under 21 years of age, but would like to sell their work, they can be represented at the event by a parent or guardian. The deadline for applications and photos to be emailed to CAAC is August 13, 2021.
The Wine and Cheese event begins at 6:00 p.m., and all are invited to attend. There will be
entertainment, great wine and cheese, and with the help of our local artists, great art to admire and perhaps, purchase. Admission price is $15.00 per person and $11.00 for CAAC members. Again, only persons 21 years of age or older can attend.
The Coopersville Area Arts Council exists to promote all fine art endeavors within our local
community and surrounding area. The purpose of the CAAC is to educate and help stimulate, promote and develop interest in the arts, crafts, and humanities by providing services and information to people and organizations in the Coopersville area. This upcoming event is one of the many ways that the CAAC hopes to achieve this goal.
INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
The entries must be original fine art pieces. There is no charge to the artist to display their pieces. Each artist will have no more than 4 pieces on display at the exhibition.
The entries are juried. Photos of the pieces to be considered must be included with the application. The pieces to be in the exhibit will be chosen from the entries submitted. There is no guarantee that all pieces submitted will be accepted to be part of the exhibit.
The art work is to be delivered to the Coopersville /Marne Train Station, 306 Main Street, Coopersville, Michigan between 12:00-4:00 p.m. on the day of the exhibit, Saturday, September 25. All art pieces must be picked up by 9:00 p.m. on that day. The Coopersville Area Arts Council is not responsible for damages to any art work displayed.
Artists may choose to simply have their work for display or to sell their work. If the artist intends to sell their work, they must be in attendance at the event to handle all sales personally. Everyone must be 21 years of age to attend the CAAC Wine and Cheese event. Any artist under 21 years of age would not be able to attend the event.
The artists who are 21 years of age or older are encouraged to attend the event. Their price of admission is to donate one additional piece of original fine art for the silent auction to be held at the event. See the CAAC website for information about general admission prices for friends and family.
Email all applications and photos of art entries to: coopersvilleareaartscouncil@gmail.com by Friday, August 13. If preferred, hard copies of the application and photos can be sent to: Coopersville Area Arts Council, P.O. Box 171, Coopersville, MI. 49404. The artists will be notified by phone or email if their work is accepted for display.
